The game was designed in such a way that they can find themselves in the entertainment offered by both five-year and nine-year-olds. With the fact that the oldest children will find challenges suitable for themselves, going through the first stages of difficulty and exercising only on subsequent levels. The first may be far too simple and should be treated as a warm-up before the actual exercises. The lowest levels will be appreciated by the youngest children: around five years old.
The basic advantage of the game is the ability to use various tasks. Each exercise having a several-level range, determined in terms of difficulty, trains different skills and allows you to perform other tasks. For example:
- reflexes training game is based on quick tracking of animals appearing in the forest and taking photos of them,
- perceptiveness exercise is to find Easter eggs hidden among other objects,
- broadening general knowledge, the task is to match children's animals to "mothers". This task is simple in itself. However, it gives the advantage in that it allows you to learn the names of small animals that may not be known to several-year-olds: chicken, donkey, kitten, foal.
- memory and concentration - here you can list many tasks: the exercise of finding the palm trees previously shown on the monitor, the task of which is to set the same crocuses in a line, arranging puzzles (a big plus for the fact that the puzzles are pictures of plants, landscapes, not byte graphics) etc.
The big advantage of the game is to interrupt every few dozen minutes of sitting in front of the computer by proposing movement games, which motivate children to get up from their chairs and start waving their arms, legs or loosening neck muscles. If a toddler or parent wants to schedule their break time, they can do so by hovering over the appropriate field.
The game is convenient also in terms of settings. It allows you to easily stop individual exercises and return to them the next time you start your computer. At the very beginning of loading the game, the child can choose one of the nine animals that accompany his struggles. You can also easily switch players and have fun in several people.
Pros and cons
The game allows for an interesting form of entertainment. It is well designed and prepared in an interesting way. The tasks are accompanied by melodies pleasant to the ear, the Tabi guide motivates to more activity, delighting with the progress made by several years old.
Do you like the game? Children who are not used to stupid forms of entertainment will certainly find an interesting way at the Academy of Mind to play and learn. Others may have a problem with the requirement posed by the participants of the game: the need for focus and attention. The Academy of the Mind is far from mindless computer games, of which there are many on the market. The downside in some tasks shared by the Mind Academy (e.g. task of finding children by individual animals) may be graphics not really reflecting reality (sometimes too simplistic). However, overall impressions and individual functionalities are a plus.
