Such a possibility is given by using bobomig with the child on a daily basis.
What is this bobomigi?
Bobomigi has their roots in sign language. These are signs that are used to communicate with young children. You need good hand-eye coordination in the child, and a lot of parent patience. The whole process of learning bobomigs is learning how to repeat characters by a parent and child, which mean the most popular and most needed words. And so, the parent shows the sign and says what it means or shows the thing each time it is needed and encourages the child to make the sign. After about 2 months of continuous repetition and learning, a child can understand the simplest signs.
What do the bobomig research say?
6 months old baby he can't say anything yet, but he's ready to show his hand gestures, so it's the right time to start flashing. This gives huge progress in the development of a small person, which has been confirmed by research.
The child develops emotionally, linguistically, communicatively, remotely, mathematically. Blinking was initially intended for deaf children, but in 1987 studies began to confirm that healthy children can also communicate in this way from the second half of their lives, which speeds up speech development and increases the number of new words learned.
Studies on the effects of flashing on speech development have confirmed that year-old children who used gestures to communicate speak like children four months older, 36 months old as 47 months, also have a wider vocabulary and use complex sentences. Although there are also opponents of the use of bobomig among healthy children. Some believe that teaching flashing makes the child lazy and discourages them from speaking for gestures.
How to teach a baby bobomig?
Flashing is a simple process, all you need to do is select the characters that the child uses most often and will be most needed. You can start learning the simplest signs as early as 6 months, but not later than in the second year of life. For learning, you can create your own dictionary and corresponding characters or use ready-made suggestions (e.g. booms based on Polish sign language characters created by Danuta Mikulska), it is important that a given character always means the same thing.
For example, the word 'drink' shows a gesture with your hand, as if we were drinking from a glass, 'sleep' - fold your hands as if to pray, put your cheek, tilt your head in this direction and close your eyes. It is important to always inform the child loudly what a given gesture means and always use to define the same meaning.
The child will strengthen the gestures that correspond to the words. It's best to start with 3-4 simple characters at the beginning and watch how your child copes with them, only when he remembers them, you should start introducing new ones. Of course, you can choose your vocabulary, and if you are not entirely sure whether you can handle signing, you can take ready-made courses that teach both parents and children to sign.
Is it worth teaching a baby how to flash?
Flashing is above all a way to communicate with your child faster and easier. The child can show what he / she expects (hungry, sleepy, sore) or express his feelings (satisfaction, annoyance, anger) by flashing. Thanks to the fact that it is easier for us to communicate with the toddler, the child feels understood, appreciated and above all satisfied that he is part of the family.
flashing allows you to communicate not only with parents, but also with grandparents or siblings, making family ties easier and faster. Parents who can understand a child are calmer, easier to respond to the needs of the child, what they want and need, they do not have to guess what the child is about. The child, by learning gestures, enriches his vocabulary, which helps them learn to speak, name things and build long sentences faster.
Bobomigi is not only a way to communicate with a child, but also great fun. Even if we do not want the child to learn sign language, learning a few gestures can be a great idea for spending free time and interesting fun.
